Try this delicious cherry pie recipe, it's totally to die for!
[post_ads]What You'll Need:
(makes 1 9-inch pie)
- 2 frozen 9-inch pie crusts (or a homemade recipe)
- 1 12 oz. bag of frozen/pitted cherries (or fresh)
- 1/2 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Splash of milk
Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Allow the cherries to defrost a bit, and then combine with the sugar, corn starch, vanilla extract, lemon juice and lemon zest.
Step 2: If using frozen crusts, follow the package instructions. Fill one of the pie crusts with the cherry filling.
Step 3: Add the second pie dough over the top and crimp the edges together. Cut small slits into the dough and brush with the milk. Sprinkle the top with a little bit of sugar and bake for 40-45 minutes or until the crust is deeply golden. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving.
